Must Try: Top 10 Things to Put in Your Tea (2023)

1
Must Try: Top 10 Things to Put in Your Tea (2023)

Tea tastes great with sugar, but what if you went a little outside of your comfort zone? There are a lot of delicious things to put in your tea that you may have not tried before. If you want to try a different kind of taste here are ten things other than sugar to try next time.

Honey

Honey added to tea

This one isn’t the most creative, but it is better for than sugar. The melted taste of honey in your tea cup is sweet and soothing. Honey helps your throat as well if it is sore.

Agave

Agave added to tea

For all of you health nuts out there, agave is a great way to sweeten tea. It is much better than sugar and a drop of it is enough to sweeten up the whole cup.

Lemon

Lemon inside tea

Lemon juice in your green tea is an irresistible combination. Ever have a half tea, half lemonade drink? That is essentially what you are making here. It is absolutely delicious.

Mint

Mint added to tea

A mint leaf or two in your tea gives the cup an extra kick. If you want to make a refreshing iced tea, mint will get you to that goal.

Ginger

Ginger added to tea

Spice up your tea with a bit of fresh ginger. Ginger helps soothe stomach aches and makes your tea a tad zesty. If normal tea is too dull for your taste buds, try this option.

Cloves and Cinnamon

Cinnamon and cloves inside tea

Add this to your winter tea recipes collection. Spicy, refreshing and incredibly aromatic. What else can you ask for?

Chia Seeds

Chia seeds added to tea

Chia seeds won’t change the taste of your tea much, but it will make you full when drinking your tea. If you are on the go and do not have time to grab a snack, a spoonful of these will suppress the hunger. Do not add too much because they expand in liquid!

Boba

Boba inside tea

Boba tea is delightful, especially with fruit teas. Pick these round balls up at your local Asian market to make your tea a food as well as a drink.

Alcohol

Alcohol inside tea

Having a hard day? A drop or two of alcohol is a great addition to your tea. Make your tea a little more fun with some hard liquid. For winter black teas, I recommend a nice bourbon.

Milk

Milk inside tea

The British had something right with this one. Milk in your teas might sound funky, but it really is good! Do not knock it until you try it.

Bonus

Ice Cream

Ice cream inside tea

Ice cream will do the job of both sweetening and milking your tea. If you have a sweet tooth a spoonful of vanilla or chocolate ice cream in your tea might be for you. It also helps cool down your tea if it is too hot!

4 Ways to Overcome Mental Noise (2023)

4 Ways to Overcome Mental Noise (2023)

Anxiety and stress are things we all deal with and wish that we wouldn’t. While there are many prescription drug solutions for anxiety, with a few solid steps it is possible to reduce your mental noise and lead a more abundant and radiant life. It isn’t always easy to have inner peace, but with practices done daily, it is a lot easier.

Discipline plays a large role in attaining anything that you want. While you probably shouldn’t assume there is an end goal of “enlightenment” associated with reducing mental noise, these practices are sure to help.

4 Consistent Practices to Overcome Mental Noise

1. Meditation retreat – Of course, meditation is a great way of overcoming mental noise, but doing 15 – 20 minutes per day will only get you so far. Most people have spent so many years listening to their own mental noise that it requires a full, intensive (and often times painful) retreat in order to overcome these challenges. Vipassana meditation is a style that offers 10 day retreats where meditators practice in silence for 12 hours per day. Luckily, they are worldwide and you can probably find one near you.

2. Daily breath work – The basis of all meditation is breath because it is the one constant that is involuntary, but can be voluntarily controlled. We have to breathe (and do so automatically), but yet we can alter it if we please. This might mean doing the meditation 20 minutes a day or it can be doing small 2 – 5 minute bursts throughout the day. Breath will be a constant grounding practice that you can use.

3. Exhaust yourself physically – Exercise is good for many reasons, but it also can help quiet mental noise. When you are physically exhausted, it is difficult to be overbearing and harsh on yourself. The only thing you can think about is recovery. Also, physical activity usually comes with plenty of brain chemicals, like endorphins etc., which feel amazing for the brain. Go for a jog, lift weights, or do whatever sport strikes your fancy. Just do it hard enough that you break a sweat and must focus on the task at hand instead of other things going on in your life.

4. Remove negativity from your life – Most of the time, we create our own anxiety and stress through mental noise, but our environment plays a big role. There is no need to remain in negative situations if you feel yourself going down this rabbit hole. Extricate yourself and remove much of the cause for stress.

If you can maintain these 4 practices or engage in them in some way, you’ll slowly reduce the mental noise and make your life happier. It isn’t a simple or quick process, but it is a rewarding one.

I know what you are thinking, “there is no way I am giving up my coffee!” I realize most people in the world are die-hard coffee addicts, but guess what, tea is the better option! Here are the top 10 reasons you need to make the switch right now!!!

1. It Won’t Give You Coffee Breath

It won’t give you coffee breath

Coffee breath is repulsive. Most of friends have to carry around mints in their purses to hide the stench of the after effects of coffee. No one wants cuddle in the cold with someone whose breathe smells like rotten food.

2. It’s Easier Than Making Coffee

3. It’s Cheaper

It’s cheaper

If you are worried about money, but need caffeine in your day, then tea is a great option. You tend to get more bang for your buck by buying tea over the little bags of coffee beans. An iced grande coffee at Starbucks is $2.65, while an iced grande tea is only $2.25.

4. Better for the Environment

Organic Tea Saves The Planet

Coffee filters you use once and then throw them away. With tea you can buy it “loose leaf” and get an adorable little tea ball to work as the diffuser instead of buying tea bags. I have seen tea diffusers as boats, sea animals, flowers, etc. I have a whole drawer of tea diffusers at home, each one cuter than the latter. Also most tea companies tend to be more eco-friendly, so even if you use tea bags they are most of the time biodegradable.

5. It Won’t Stain Your Teeth

Improves Your Dental Hygiene

Okay this one may be a half lie because black tea does stain, but significantly less! The acidity in coffee really bad for your teeth and the dark color stains them! Green tea will not stain your teeth and some tea even has natural fluorides that protect your teeth from cavities.

L-theanine reduces anxiety and stress

I am not kidding, tea helps reduce your chances of getting diseases such as cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s. It is also packed with vitamins like vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Manganese, Potassium, and Fluoride. Ever heard of a green tea detox? Now you know they are supposed to be so good for you.

8. Green Tea Helps Burn Fat from Your Body

Helps to Digest Fat Heavy Foods

Green tea has been known to increase fat burning and boost your metabolism. There have been multiple studies about this and has been proven, so maybe you should listen to the scientists if you want to shed off the winter weight.

9. Improves Cognition

It Has Less Caffeine

Tea is loaded with polyphenols (one of the most powerful antioxidants) that is sure to make your body live longer. These polyphenols expand your blood vessels and advances the speed of the blood to the brain.

10. It Has More Caffeine Than Coffee

Synergetic Properties with Caffeine

Let’s be honest, the reason you drink coffee so much is because you want the caffeine that comes with it. A new study found that tea leaves actually have more caffeine than coffee. The problem is most people do not allow their tea to sit enough in the water before drinking it, making it more diluted. If you let your tea sit for an extra couple of minutes, you will be more energized than a single cup of coffee.
